1982 - I was born in Gillingham in Kent where I grew up and went to school.
1987 - Learned to play the recorder! 1999 - Passed grade 8 flute with distinction and reached grade 7 standard on the piano. 2000 - Left school with four As in A-level English, Music, Psychology and Maths.2003 - Graduated from York University with a BA Hons in English and Related Literature. I started to work as a Care Assistant at a respite centre for people with Multiple Sclerosis.2005 - Gained an MA in Creative Writing at Leeds University.2006 - Started to build up some experience of working within the arts sector, doing poetry workshops in schools.2007 - Spent six months living and volunteering in Rwanda and a month travelling down Africa.2008 - Embarked on a career as an arts worker specialising in poetry and music. I now work in schools and care homes facilitating workshops involving poetry, music and African drumming. I also do private instrumental teaching.2009-2011 - Gained a range of experience in schools teaching curriculum music to key stage 1 and key stage 2 as well as facilitating whole year group singing sessions.
